Date of foundation: 1814
Kazan State Medical University is a multifunctional and multileveled state medical institution that meets social and personal needs in acquiring education in medicine, development of medico-biological sciences and broadening scientific knowledge of medical science. At present the University is a large educational and scientific complex, consisting of educational and scientific departments, clinics, 8 museums, several permanent medical training facilities. Specialists are trained at faculties of general medicine, preventative medicine, pediatric, dental, pharmaceutical, higher nursing education and the faculty of social work. Kazan State Medical University holds the 16th position in the rating of medical universities among 86 world universities (The Gourman Report. Today more than 5000 students study at this University.
