The mosque is the monument of Tatar religious architecture of the second half of XIX century. Its construction gave birth to second officially registered Muslim parish in Kazan. Salikh Sagitov was one of the first imams of the mosque. He was very qualified teacher. During this period the Apanaev’s mosque was one of the richest places in the city, the Apanaevs’ merchant family estate. That is why the mosque and its priests considered to be one of the best in Kazan.
