Description

Theatre was established in 1932 as theatre for young spectators attached to the central pioneers club. In 1957 – 1991 the theatre bore the name of the Lenin Komsomol theatre, and since 1991 it got its modern name. The theatre occupies the building of former merchant assembly. During more than 80 years the building changed numerous owners, who reconstructed it according to their taste and means. In 1908 the heirs of its last owner gave the building to the city merchant society. The merchant assembly theatre was established here in 1909. In 1923-1924 it was reconstructed for the Tatar State theatre. In 1927-1930 the building was used as the Tatar culture center, then as Teachers’ house, and since 1935 it is Kazan young spectators’ theatre. In 1995 the building was destroyed by the fire and in 2001 it was restored in its initial form. Head of the theatre is Farit Shamsiev, head director – Vladimir Chigishev.
