Souvenirs

Kazan souvenirs are the elements of Tatar national costume: clothes and shoes, jewelry, books, CD with Koran record and ceremonial items. There are many shops in Kazan where you can buy such presents.

You can find souvenirs to any taste and purse in the shop “Kazan souvenir” on Kremlyovskaya street. You can buy bead, shamail or souvenir Koran in the Kremlin souvenir stores or in the Kazan mosques souvenir shops.

In “Bogema” store on Kirov street you can find various things made by Kazan masters and see the collection of famous “Kazan cat” figurines. Leathern slippers with Tatar ornament in special case can be a wonderful present.

There is a department of national costumes made by Kazan masters in “Suyumbika” shop on Kremlyovskaya street. There is a great choice of headdress, beautiful leathern high shoes and fancy woman slippers here. And also there are amazing figurines of Tatar fairy tail’s character “Shurale” - handmade fluffy toys, which are made of sheep wool by Kazan puppet master Aleksandr Stukov, in “Suyumbika” shop.

Haute couturier national costumes you can find in the «Ebivol» gallery on Parizhskaya Komuna street. It is not exactly a gallery; it is a diversified shop, in which a fourth of room is at the mercy of art. The gallery’s hostess combined the department of modern clothes, national costume atelier and entresol gallery. You can find various antique things such as spinning loom, samovars, accordions and trunks in the entresol gallery. Kazan puppet masters exhibit their works here.

There is a wonderful “Kukmorskiye valenki (Kukmor felt boots)” shop on Kirov street in Kazan. Felt boots are produced at Kukmor walk-mill and made of natural combed washed sheep wool. The assortment of “Kukmorskiye valenki (Kukmor felt boots)” shop is magnificent; here you can buy various souvenirs such as national turned felt boots with elegant prints, and also forbid a name embroidery on the top.

It is a tradition to bring sweet presents such as national Tatar meal “chak-chak” or triangles «echpochmak» from Kazan. The best gift goods in brand-name packing you can buy in hypermarket “Bahetle”.
