Holidays in Kazan coincide with the Russian calendar, except religious holidays and “the Day of the Republic of Tatarstan” and “the Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan”.

New Year's holidays lasts 5 days – from the 1st till the 5th of January.
Defender of the Fatherland Day – the 23rd of February.
The International Women's Day – the 8th of March.
Holiday of Spring and Labor – the 1st of May.
The Victory Day – the 9th of May.
The Day of Russia – the 12th of June.
The Day of the Republic of Tatarstan – the 30th of August.
The National Unity Day – the 4th of November.
The Anniversary of October revolution, the Day of accord and reconciliation - the 7th of November.
The Day of the Constitution of the Republic of Tatarstan – the 6th of November.
The Day of the Constitution of the Russian Federation – the 12th of December.

All these mentioned holidays are non-working days.

If holiday coincide with the non-working day, the non-working day is transferred on the following after holiday the working day.

Religious holidays:
Christmas – the 7th of January.
“Kurban-bayram” - date of carrying out of holiday is estimated according to a lunar calendar and annually is established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan not later than three months before it comes.

Religious holidays are also non-working days.

On the occasion of finishing of the spring-field works the national holiday “Sabantuy” and the Russian national holiday “Karavon” are celebrated in the Republic of Tatarstan. The date of carrying out of these holidays is annually established by the Decree of the President of the Republic of Tatarstan.
Besides, according to the Law of the Republic of Tatarstan № 1448-HII from the 19th of February, 1992 “About holidays and memorable days in the Republic of Tatarstan” holiday “the Day of the native language” spent on the 26th of April is established in the Republic.

These days are working days.
